About This Guide This configuration guide contains supplemental instructions needed to install and configure your SERVER Windows NT v4.0/Enterprise Edition, Novell NetWare v4.11, Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) OpenServer Release 5.04 and SCO UnixWare 7 Network Operating Systems. This document is intended to complement the more detailed procedural documents available from the vendor of the network operating system.

Installation of Tape Drives After the installation of SCO 5.04 UNIX is complete, ensure the tape device is configured to the proper controller. If reconfiguring is necessary, follow the instructions in the hardware section of the SCO OpenServer Rel. 5.04 Handbook.
Configuring the Intel PRO/100+ and 3COM 3C905TX LAN Cards 1. Select the System Administration icon from the Main Menu display. 2. Select the Networks icon. 3. Select the Network Configuration Manager. 4. Select the Hardware Options pull-down menu and choose Add New LAN Adapter.

Preparation The following sections describe the necessary preparation procedures for installing UnixWare 7.0. Checking System Configuration Before installing UnixWare, make sure that your system configuration is correct. Run the BIOS Setup Utility and the System Setup Utility (SSU) to check system configuration. Refer to the Configuring Your System and System Setup Utility chapters of your User's Guide for more information on how to run these utilities.
Configuring RAID If you have an NEC SecuRAID 210 or 530 (Mylex AcceleRAID 250 or 1100) Disk Array Controller preinstalled on your system, it was preconfigured at the factory. Refer to your system's User's Guide and to the Mylex AcceleRAID Installation Guide and the Mylex Disk Array Controller Installation Guide and User’s Manual for additional information on this option card.
If you want to reconfigure the size of the DOS partition, See Appendix A "Reconfiguring the DOS Partition". Product Restrictions The following restriction was in effect at the time of this release: DOS Partitions - MS-DOS allows installation of multiple primary DOS partitions. However, SCO Open Systems Software allows only one primary DOS partition and one extended DOS partition on the boot drive. If you install more than one primary and one extended DOS partition, SCO Open Systems Software will be unable to access any DOS partition.
